One of the Biggest things that happened near Peter Kings district was Amazon pulling out of the deal for them to build their new headquarters in Long Island city, Queens. While the headquarters wouldn't have been in his district it would have been in close proximity giving hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs to his constituents. Amazon left due to pressure from people in the community and politicians, claiming that it was a bad deal for New Yorkers. Rep. Pete King has made multiple tweets blaming the disaster on Progressive Democrats, and more specifically Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
